The Mantra that we all know: ‘Occupy yourself’
Now that most of the colleges are closing for the summer break, it is imperative that we as undergrads do something that makes these holidays worthwhile. It does not necessarily have to be something related to our career. It can be anything that moulds us further as a person.
So here’s a list of a few things that you can occupy yourself with:
1) Become a Reader
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Read as much as you can: newspapers, magazines, books, journals, novels, blog posts, for reading will take you to the length, breadth & height of this world. Know how to develop a reading habit because reading will take you to the deepest ocean & the highest cloud.
It will always add some value to your being.
2) Learn to Play a Musical Instrument
Do you always fancy the guy who plays guitar in your favourite band? Or do people who pay musical instruments impress you? Well, time to be one.
Enroll yourself for learning your favourite musical instrument & find yourself learning & practicing your favourite songs for the rest of the holidays.
3) Go to Places
Travelling is like flirting with Life. It’s like saying, “I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.”
Plan out a trip with your family & explore what’s out there. If not family, plan a pocket friendly trip with your friends and go places. Meet people, know their story, know their culture & jot it down. Write about your experience & make it viral. Get to know some Unexplored Tourist Places in India.
4) Movie Appreciation
If you are a movie fanatic, this is the time to make something opportunistic out of your hobby. Watch a movie, watch it twice. Write your opinions, make it a review & post it online. As you know about the most awaited movies of 2016, a lot of people get influenced by something that you post about a movie.
If you’ve always wanted to do an internship or work with your dad, these two-three months are a great chance to work as a full-time intern & gain experience which would boost your career henceforth.
