The city of Miami, FL is the cruise capital of the world.

While taking a cruise out of Miami is exciting, many people forget to check out the wonders of Miami itself. This city is full of life, made evident by the bustling crowds, exciting nightlife, beautiful beaches, and delicious food.

You could spend weeks in Miami and still not experience it all. What do you do if you only have a couple of days in the city?

Below is a 2-day Miami itinerary guide! Make sure to keep reading to plan the perfect weekend getaway.

Lay On the Beach

It wouldn’t be a weekend in Miami if you didn’t spend time at the beach. Miami offers plenty of beautiful beach spots, such as Lummus Park and Surfside Beach.

If you’re visiting in the summer, get out to your favorite beach spot earlier in the morning to beat the crowds. Bring a towel to sit by the water, or bring a hammock to lay among the palms.

Are you looking for a beachside resort? Try the Local House Hotel or Four Seasons Hotel Miami.

Making a stop at all the beaches is impossible during a 2-day weekend. But don’t worry. You can catch a glimpse of the crystal clear water with Breeze Helicopters.

Try Delicious Food

Trying different restaurants is one of the best things to do in Miami for a weekend. Don’t forget to sip down a fresh mojito or Cuban coffee while you’re there.

For classic Cuban cuisine, stop by Versailles. If you’re in the mood for seafood, try Joe Stone’s Crab Restaurant.

Try 1-800-Lucky or The Wharf Miami for a social atmosphere and delicious food. The options are endless!

Check Out the Art

Even if you can’t make it to the famous Art Basel Miami, there are still tons of unique art pieces to check out.

Stroll around Wynwood to see the Wynwood Walls. You’ll catch plenty of graffiti and locally-owned galleries while you’re in the area.

Do you enjoy museums? Head to the Perez and The Bass.

Explore the Nightlife

It’s not the best Miami itinerary without the mention of the city’s nightlife. Miami comes alive once the sun sets. All you have to do is close your eyes, and you’ll hear the house music in the air.

The most popular (and one of the most difficult clubs to get into) is LIV. This club features some of the hottest music artists and DJs.

For a more relaxed vibe, check out El Patio in Wynwood or the Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, a speakeasy that’s entrance looks like a port-a-potty.
